Safe Search International is delighted to be working with Tencate Fabrics Europe, an industry-leading manufacturer of safety fabrics for protective clothing. We are currently on the search for a talented Salesperson for Sales and Business Development Manager – Military & Police – Europe, Flame Resistant Fabrics for the M&P market to strengthen their presence in Europe.TenCate Protective Fabrics protects people on the job from harmful effects of heat, flame and other related risks. The primary applications in which their products are used include structural firefighting, wildland fire fighting and many industrial areas such as chemical, petrochemical, electrical and molten processing. They develop and produce the most comprehensive range of proven, high-performance fabrics used in manufacturing protective clothing. TenCate Protective fabrics are active worldwide through sales offices in North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. TenCate Protective Fabrics USA is headquartered in Union City, Georgia, a suburb 20 minutes south of metropolitan Atlanta. They sell to the Military, Emergency Response, and Industrial sectors. This role is focused on the Military and Police.

The position of Sales and Business Development Manager – Military is an additional resource to strengthen our client's efforts in the European region and will be responsible for implementing our strategic sales plan and achieving financial performance goals in the Military & Police markets in the European region by:

  • Building brand awareness and preference with end-users and market influencers in the military & police sectors by promoting our leading fabrics and marketing at the end-user level[HD1].
  • Coordinates and participates in promotional activities such as trade shows to market products, establish new relationships with industry contacts and obtain information on product trends.
  • Back selling the fabrics through our garment producers (Regional/Country Sales Managers) by winning the order at an end-user level in the markets above by demonstrating the leading USP products we have as one of the world’s leading technical fabrics companies.
  • Work with TCPF’s Global Military organizaing to best position the company for success
  • Partner with an outside consulting group when needed to grow companies sales and market share

This position will report to the VP, Global Military

Area of responsibility and tasks:

• Achieve maximum territory sales growth and market share objectives.
• Builds, nurtures, and manages relationships with key decision-makers. 
• Enhance brand awareness and create product demand by developing direct relationships with end-user customers, garment manufacturers, distribution channels, and governmental bodies that influence our target markets.
• Proactively create supply chain alignment with existing and potential partners to maximize end-user adoption Garment PPE comprising Tencate Protective Fabrics.

Professional and personal requirements:

Qualifications

• New Business Development approach, team player, with a dynamic skillset
• Military experience preferred 
• 5+ years of experience in the Military and/or Textile PPE industry
• Existing relationships in the Industrial Flame Resistant/Military/Police market is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence peers and customers.
• Customer & Client focused with strong networking capability 
• Ambitious self-starter, with leadership skills
• Works with a strong sense of urgency
• Effective communication skills with people at all levels of the organization
• Good command of oral and written German and English and a second language is preferred
• Willingness to travel
